The story of Pakistan's intriguing past began with a portrayal of the ancient city of Moenjodaro. Flourishing on the River Indus 5000 years ago, Monejodaro was one of the first trade centres of the East. There were also displays of the Indus Valley where Alexander the Great once marched.
The pavilion portrayed Pakistan's rich archaeological, historical and cultural heritage on one hand, and a forward-looking sense of optimism on the other. The pavilion's interior was decorated with diversified textile patterns, hand-woven carpets and traditional embroidery work. Textiles were also sold in the pavilion's gift shop.
