The Sri Lanka Pavilion was framed by brightly coloured pandals (archways) normally installed over roadways during festive occasions. Symbolizing a nation in motion, a statue of buddha was framed by a large batik that depicted "perahera" (the famous Sri Lankan religious procession). Large flags hung from the pavilion's ceiling as a form of communication. Ceiling flags are a Sri Lankan custom to indicate family, district or religious orders.
Tourism exhibits were flanked with a quote from Marco Polo describing the island nation as "paradise."
