VIA Rail Exhibit

One hundred and fifty years prior to the fair, Canada's first railroad was established.  Fifty years later, in 1886, the first transcontinental train arrived on the Pacific coast.  VIA rail celebrated these anniversaries by displaying Canada's first locomotive and exhibiting the history of rail travel in Canada.

As one of the off-site exhibits, much of the newly refurbished train terminal across from Expo's East Gate was devoted to pavilion space.
