SOUVENIRS

As with all World's Fairs, there was a variety of souvenirs to choose from.  Listed below is a small sample of the items that were sold during Expo 86.

Prices varied drastically depending on the quality of the item.  It is next to impossible to gauge how much Expo 86 souvenirs increased in value over the years.  The basic rule of thumb for most collectibles is if it was cheap when you bought it, it wont be worth that much more after 20 years later unless there is a demand for it.  Currently, the World's Fair memorabilia market is low.

An assortment of pins (above) that were for sale at the various pavilions.  The License plates (below) could be put on the front of anyone's car.

A beer stein, an Expo Ernie inflatable doll, a t-shirt and an Expo Swatch (type) Watch (above).
The official Expo 86 Cookbook, a shell dish and the official Expo rain shield (below) -- for people to wear in case of rain storms.  Because it was one of the driest summers in Vancouver's history, there were a lot of rain shields left over after the fair.

Salt/pepper shakers, a gold medallion and a hood ornament (above).
Stamps from the USSR Pavilion and a Expo passport booklet with pavilion stamps (below).

Playing cards, a Greyhound bus button and a brass pencil sharpener (above).
