PAVILION OF PROMISE With grace and elegance, a white dove with an 18 metre wing span marked the entrance to the Pavilion of Promise. Inside the pavilion three mirrored rooms expressed the theme of God communicating with humanity and humanity with God, through a contemporary musical, The Scroll. The first room, a mirrored cube, produced an infinity of reflected images. Visitors witnessed the telling of the story of Creation through sound, laser light, film and live action. The second room reflected images so that a wall size screen appeared to be a 35 storey-high globe. The second part of The Scroll was seen as if from the vantage point of outer space. The third room appeared to create an infinitely large space with laser effects, screens and moving objects. the dynamic climax of The scroll presented a glimpse of the future. Outdoors, a 300-seat amphitheatre entertained visitors with live music and daily theatrical performances. This was the only pavilion sponsored by a religious sect. FROM THE BEST OF EXPO GUIDE: The Pavilion of Promise is a high-tech musical and visual extravaganza. The audience is captivated by a magnificent interplay of beautifully choreographed live-dancing, music, film and laser technology shown in mirror-lined theatres. In three short films, man's fight between good and evil is dramatized. Based on the musical "The Scroll," the account is Biblical, but can have meaning and appeal to peoples of all faith.
